Kitchen Sinks & Faucets
Kitchen Plumbing – Sinks & Faucets
A very good reason to upgrade your sink is if it’s leaking or is not in good condition overall. Over time, even the most durable stainless steel sink gets dents, scratches, rust stains, etc. Even a cast iron sink, which is incredibly tough, can look terrible when the enamel coating chips or cracks.
Â
Upgrading and remodeling your kitchen adds value to your home and the sink is the centerpiece of your kitchen. The top two things people notice about a kitchen are your counters, sink, and faucet.
Â
Single Basin:Â Simply put, it’s the most common and basic type of sink. It’s a single large and deep rectangular sink. It can be used to accommodate large items without a problem. Most plumbers recommend a sink that is between 33 – 36″ wide x 8 – 10″ in depth.
Â
Double Basin:Â This particular sink has two basins, as shown in this picture. The photo depicts a double basin undermount sink.. You can also choose to have one smaller basin and one larger next to it. This smaller basin can be used for a garbage disposal unit, which is the most popular used in todays installations.
Farmhouse Basins:Â As shown on the picture below (white basin with single handle faucet), the are the largest of all sink basins, designed for a plethora of uses. Designed for large projects and lots of dishes… even children or small pets! These are also the most versatile of all sinks if you want to go big and better.
